    Sad thing is most vets say "come in " even tho they know it isnt a concern yet. I had a vet i called for this and it was just a small amount of mucus with tiny blood on it on the poop and they told me to go in . I went and they said to not feed him for 24 hours.. like charged me arm and leg for nothing done. It was colitis and gor better 2 days later

      She did talk about wanting to stay outside/away from family a lot, so that behavior would be similar to hiding away.

    • @DogCancer
      @DogCancer 18 часов назад

      Social isolation and wanting to be outside a lot are the behaviors that sometimes we take as "hiding." We agree, that word definitely describes it, and it feels awful when our dogs hide from us, especially when we are worried they are just about to leave. 😞

    My dog had bone cancer and good Rx like hydrocodone and gabapentin preserved his quality of life in addition to treatments like stereotactic radiation, zolendronate infusions and chemo. My dog was not a good candidate for amputation. So why are vets so reluctant to give pain meds when necessary and so many are just incompetent when it comes to pain management.

    • @DogCancer
      @DogCancer День назад

      Pain management is absolutely necessary for dogs with osteosarcoma or other bone cancers. It's painful beyond belief. We're so glad your veterinarian was willing to give good meds, and also that you were able to use radiation, which has a pain reduction benefit as well.

    How do you think we find new therapeutic options? Even with CHOP, it was by trial and error with a similar starting point. While animal data is needed, many reputable journals are showing encouraging positive effects when used on cancers at low, non-toxic doses. Besides, in cases where CHOP has not worked, a low non-toxic does of Ivermectin holds low risk when no other options exist when balanced against the research.

    I arrested my Giant Schnauzers osteosarcoma in 2022 by feeding raw hamburger and raw chicken with bones in every day , this protocol is 7 days a week multivitamin, 880mgs Fenbendazole pure from vet compounding pharmacy per day, 8mgs of 1% Ivermectin liquid for animals which is 8/10ths of one CC which is .021 ml/cc per Kg. LDN 2.5mgs from compounding pharmacy , 2-Cimetidine x 3 times a day , one Loratidine x 1 per day , Benadryl x 1 per day and 200mgs melatonin per day , I'm going to look into artemisinin read about it for 7 years never needed it , she (giant schnauzer) has perfect blood work and is thriving no lung problems and C reactive protein is normal started this as soon as I found broken toe nail took three months to arrest this post is June 2024 How am I able to cure osteosarcoma but a doctor can't they just want to amputate which will give you about 2-3 months ,really about a week before they start going down hill waste of money and very archaic for the dog sad this is all the vets are taught and know and chemo therapy is not well tolerated in dogs chemo kills healthy cells which release glucose which speeds up the cancer pathogen by giving more food glucose and Immunotherapy doesn't work either vets don't care they want to clean your wallet out and prey on your love for your dog

    Starts at 5:40 - Brief summary of the foods that aid health: Sardines, fish in general omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin D, B12, smaller fish at the beginning of food chain are best i.e sardines rather than tuna, packed in water preferably, 1 sardine three times per week for a 20 lb dog. However if sardines are good for your dog I would give them as much as they want 🌞 just my opinion. Turkey Tail mushrooms, and some other mushrooms chopped finely and lightly cooked (not too hot or prolonged cooking), use stems as well. Brussels spouts, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage. Low sugar berries, such as blueberries, strawberries, etc (red, blue or black coloured berries). Although not mentioned in this video, I believe carrots are good for dogs too. If cooking a nice stew of carrots, brussel sprouts (or any of the vegetables mentioned) perhaps add some dried or fresh herbs such as parsley or oregano as some are believed to be advantageous to health. Probably worth looking into. One point, if cooking with olive oil, do not heat it above warm as this changes it's structure as is not as healthy, also some vegetable fats are highly processed and not at all natural (sunflower, rapeseed, corn oil, these cause inflammation). Best wishes

      Carrots are delicious and healthy for most dogs to eat, we just tend to shy away from offering them to dogs with cancer due to their high simple sugar content. And a big yes to using herbs like basil, parsley and oregano -- here is our article! www.dogcancer.com/articles/diet-and-lifestyle/parsley-basil-oregano/

    My dog is 16.5 yrs old. She most likely has a nasal tumor since the fall. She gets a severe nose bleed about once every month or two. And we give her yunyan baiyao. In your experience do nose bleeds just get worse and ultimately won't stop bleeding? We know she's old and she won't improve. We don't want her to suffer but the days in between nose bleeds are fairly normal. She sneezes a lot. So we are just trying to determine when how this will progress and when it's time.

    • @DogCancer
      @DogCancer 19 дней назад

      We're so sorry to hear about your dog. Yunnan baiyao is a really good idea! As for whether the bleeding eventually gets out of control, that's not a guaranteed way that things end for dogs with nasal tumors. It could happen, yes, but it's not the ultimate cause of death in most cases. Here's our article on nasal tumors, and if you go down to the "end stages" section it discusses what the ultimate days can look like. www.dogcancer.com/articles/types-of-dog-cancer/nose-cancer-in-dogs/ You might also find this blog post helpful, about the warning signs your dog is nearing the end: www.dogcancer.com/perspectives/hospice-and-end-of-life/warning-signs-dog-is-dying/

    Hi Dr. What kind of treatment for MCT at armpit of my Frenchie? Don’t want to do chemo as talking about amputation. Currently on Kenalog shot & pregnisone but hasn’t shrunk the tumour. In fact it is more enlarged and in pain. What should be done next? Was thinking about Stelfonta but not available in Canada. Your advice appreciated.

    • @DogCancer
      @DogCancer 29 дней назад

      Aloha, and we're so sorry to hear about your dog. Mast cell tumors are known as "the great tricksters," because they can change so quickly -- one day they can be huge and the next shrink down. This is in part due to mast cells being in charge of histamine release in the body. That's a chemical that causes swelling, like when a hive pops up or nasal passages get swollen. Surgery is usually the first course of treatment for a mast cell tumor, and that's probably why your veterinarian is thinking about amputation, due to the location in your dog's armpit. Here's our article on mast cell tumors that goes over everything: www.dogcancer.com/articles/types-of-dog-cancer/mast-cell-tumors-in-dogs/

    I have lost three dogs to cancer in the last three years, one in February of this year. One was diagnosed and died within a week. The second received treatment that extend his life by about a month. It was worth it to have even that time. The third lived a little more than a year with no treatment except CBD Oil and prednisone. We felt guilt for some things though our worst feelings were and still are why did they get cancer. We need research in causes, not just treatments. Are we poisoning our pets to keep them safe? We are donating all that we can to canine cancer research and everyone who has been affected and can should donate to canine cancer research. If we take them into our lives and our homes we should commit to their care. Let me also say, they all die. It is very rare for a dog to live out a year with cancer. They all die.

    Lord. Help our pets. Starting this for my little minature poodle after 2 surgeries. First one they said, "We got it all" second surgery 2 weeks after the first surgery they said there were no clean margins when they removed the tumor, the, cancer cells were all the way to the edges of where they thought was 2 or 3 cm beyond the tumor and they were in lymph gland, and some seen in the spleen by needle aspiration the next week at the oncologists. I have her on probiotics ( large variety), citrizine, pepcid, gabapentin, and she will go on a steroid and palaudia 80 bucks a month (10 pound dog) and 200 or 300 dollar monthly evals. checks. This is an aggressive cancer. I have only had her for 1 year. We adopted her at age 5. I know I speak for everyone when I say, "I hate cancer" I'm doing everything I can.

    We have always taken in older rescue dogs, mostly labs and lab crosses. We obviously do not keep our dogs as long as someone who takes in a puppy and have therefore needed to put a lot of dogs to sleep over the years, when we consider it to be their time. We never get used to it, but we accept that it is not something that we are doing to our dogs, rather, something that we are doing for our dogs. We as humans have a responsibility to do for our dogs, what they cannot do for themselves. Too many people keep their dogs alive far longer than they should. To some small degree, I also have been guilty. Our rescue dogs have always enriched our lives in so many ways. I highly recommend that people should look seriously at adopting a rescue dog. Our story from Australia. We adopted our Golden retriever, Millie, aged seven and a half on the second of February 2024 from a wonderful adoption agency. We already had another Goldie who we had adopted from the same place about five months previous. We almost immediately located a small lump on her back. We took her to the vet on 14th March, by which time the lump had grown significantly and was looking very nasty, together with another twenty or so smaller lesions on her back and neck which were growing and fast. The vet told us that it could be Lymphoma and we all agreed that if it was the worst case, we would not consider chemotherapy as it is too harsh on any dog and, according to my research, only extends a dogs life for a relatively short period of time. Most dogs don’t last more than two to four months after diagnosis with Lymphoma. Some much less. He operated on the following Thursday (March 21) and removed approximately half of the lesions including the largest ones. The adoption agency paid for everything ($2,500). On the previous Monday (18th) we had commenced her on a course of Ivermectin which we got from our local farm produce store. This was our decision without consulting the vet. Thursday 28th March, Lymphoma was confirmed. 2nd April, sutures removed. Most of the remaining lesions had fallen off, leaving just 2. Millie had healed from the operation in an incredible manner even though she looked like a patchwork doll. Our vet was amazed. Follow up by the vet was on 15th April by which time the remaining lesions had fallen off. The vet just kept looking at her, shaking his head and saying he had never seen this before and that none of the dogs that he had treated for Lymphoma in the past had survived let alone thrived. Today is the 14th May and Millie is going from strength to strength. The main issue that we have now, is that we have to suffer from her selective deafness! Doubtful that Ivermectin can fix this. Her energy levels and strength have tripled. It makes us believe that she must have been pretty ill when we got her although nobody could have known. The agency only had her for three days. Everyone who knows her and her story (a lot of people, she makes friends everywhere she goes) are delighted and amazed. What we don't know is how long she should be on Ivermectin, when does she go on a maintenance dose and what the dose should be. What we used was a horse wormer in pellet form. The packet contained 140 mg of Ivermectin and was suitable to treat a 700 kg horse. Millie weighed 46 kg (very overweight, she is now down to 37 KG), so we gave her 10 mg per day with food). Millie is also on a no carb diet and will remain on it, however, we have to ensure that she does not lose too much weight. Any advice would be appreciated. We are hoping that Millie’s story may help other dogs and people. The adoption agency has very recently taken in a one-year-old Golden Retriever with Lymphoma. He has been operated on to remove a mass and is now on Ivermectin. The same dose as Millie. We will be watching closely. Questions and comments are most welcome. I am not a medical person of any kind and am not trying to give advice. I am, however, someone who hates to give up easily and will always look everywhere for a solution to any problem. The reason to put Millie on Ivermectin came from a huge amount of research on the web. What did annoy me was 'experts' telling me that Ivermectin could be dangerous! What could be more dangerous than dying? These people are either fools or dishonest. I do not know what is worse. Blessings and love.

    That's exactly what I do with my dog. Every day is about my tia. I suffer with my health but one thing I have never done is let her see or feel how I feel. We need to treat them no different as they cotton on to that. Treat them same but put a little more excitement to their day, and make sure you have lots of snuggles on sofa. Dogs cats etc all feed of our emotions. So I've learnt to be clever and never show fear or sadness. My dog acts exactly same and I'm doing everything to get rid of this cancer. If she doesn't stay here, Then I tried. But till the end I would kept my dog happy . It's life we all die. I have faith and I know jesus will keep all our loved ones till we go home Amen. I hope my dog lives a long time. And I pray 🙏 all people going thr this keep strong ,keep smiling as your dogs,cats etc will love you more for it. Remember we have all done our best.

    My dog is 13' and has a sudden nose bleed last night and one tonight. Has a history last 3 years really dry nose on outside. I'm going to call veterinarian in morning to ask what I should do. I am worried and hope that it's nothing cancerous or deadly. She has a small cyst on tongue but no dental issues that are aware of.
